How we collect salaries
Sources
We look for published salary guides and job-board salary pages for each occupation and country. For every number we keep the source link and a verbatim quote, and check automatically that the quote is really on the page and contains both numbers, that the currency is the country's, and that the figure is within a plausible monthly range. Anything that fails is rejected.
Confidence grades
High: two independent sources agree within 15%. Medium: one verified source. Estimate: no adequate source, or the sources disagree, so we show a clearly labelled estimate bounded by the verified neighbouring levels. An estimate never overwrites a sourced number and is never included in the structured data for search engines.
What we do not do
We never derive one country's salary from another's, and we never fill a level without data with an invented number: it shows “Not enough data”. No page is indexed by search engines before it is reviewed and has verified salaries for at least three levels.
Visitor answers
Visitors can share their salary anonymously. Answers are only used once there are 20 for the same occupation, country and level, with the top and bottom 10% removed.
Updates
We re-run the research and verification every three months; every page shows its last update date.
Skills and titles
Reference skills come from O*NET and ESCO. The level and skill text is written by AI within those references; salaries are never written by AI.
